Congratulations! You have decided to commit to upping your game and using professional images for your business materials (or to simply update the ones you have). That is exciting! (And can also be overwhelming.) Now, you are faced with trying to decide what to wear, and where hold your session.
Don’t worry - I can help!
Choosing your outfit is easier than you think. I always recommend choosing what you feel most confident and comfortable in. You know, the outfit you want to wear five times a week, but only let yourself wear once (okay… maybe twice) lest people think you don’t ever wash your clothes.
Obviously, if that outfit is a hole-y pair of sweats and your favorite 10 year old t-shirt, you will need to rethink your decision. But, most of us have a work outfit that we love to wear and feel great in. THAT’s your pick!
If you are someone who enjoys accessories, definitely add them to your shoot. A great necklace, tie, or hat, can really make your photos pop and help to showcase more of your personality too.
If you have scheduled a full personal branding session, you are welcome to bring an additional outfit or two to add some variety to your photos. If that is the case, I recommend choosing one more formal and one less formal outfit to showcase both your professional and personal sides.
Next, let’s pick a location. If you have scheduled a headshot session, downtown or in studio are both excellent choices. Adding in some distressed brick and unique architecture is a great way to add interest to your photos, and working in the studio provides a solid backdrop which makes for a polished, timeless look.
If your business has a brick and mortar location, that is also great spot to start, especially for a personal branding session. I love to capture my clients in their element to showcase what their day to day looks like. From there, we can move outdoors, to a studio set-up, or to your favorite coffee shop. This session is about showcasing your business, and your personality too.
In order to choose the best locations, I recommend we chat about the specifics of your business and what you are most excited to share with your clients. From there, I can help you choose spots that will be perfect for making connections with the people you most want to attract.
I am so glad you are thinking about putting together your next business photo session. Let’s work together to craft the perfect session for your business needs. I can’t wait to get you in front of my camera!
